After her father's murder, Ryuuko Matoi searches for his killer, following the only lead—a missing half of his invention, the Scissor Blade. She arrives at Honnouji Academy, ruled by the cold student council president Satsuki Kiryuuin and her Elite Four. The school’s hierarchy grants the top students special uniforms, that bestow superhuman abilities. After being defeated by one of the uniformed students, Ryuuko discovers Senketsu, a sentient "Kamui" (God Clothes), which awakens upon contact with her blood, giving her immense power. Armed with Senketsu and the Scissor Blade, Ryuuko challenges the Elite Four to uncover her father's killer.
