In times of need, you might find a strange number scrawled in red. Calling it, you'll hear a young man introduce himself as Yato, a minor deity and self-proclaimed "Delivery God." Dreaming of millions of worshippers, Yato struggles to make ends meet, doing odd jobs for five yen. His luck worsens when his weapon partner abandons him. However, fate changes when middle schooler Hiyori Iki saves Yato from a car accident, losing her soul in the process. Now a spirit, Hiyori demands Yato fix her, and together, they embark on a journey that may change both their fates.
